    Summer time!

Sunday, June 8, 2008, 05:28 PM CST [General]

So the summer is here and all of our leagues have ended. I hurt my shoulder cleaning carpets a few weeks before leagues ended, so I pretty much just sucked it up the last couple of weeks and got through it. We decided to take the summer "off" of leagues to save up some money for other things and b/c of the drama at Bama Lanes... frankly we needed a break... so right now we are just going to drive to Woodmere when we want to bowl for fun so we can enjoy ourselves. I love some of the people at Bama Lanes... one of the managers is a sweetie and I love most everyone I've bowled with there. It's hard to leave, but I need my kids to be somewhere that they will be respected and treated right... and where their parents are respected. Unfortunately, Hank continued to act like a jerk the last week of YOUTH leagues and confronted my husband DURING leagues about MY complaint. I'll never understand that whole "man to man" thing... and why he thought it was appropriate to confront him then in front of all the parents and kids and cause a chain of events that lead to a scene. Anyways.. I digress...

Austin is getting bigger now and so in the fall we're looking forward to teaching him a little more about bowling. He'll be 3 in a month... amazing. Tommy is about to turn 7... he's looking forward to doing more tournaments! He's a good little bowler and when he tries, he bowls really well. I really think he has some natural talent. We'll see with Austin... lol.... and then we have our daughter coming up and I'm sure from the picture on my profile that she'll end up with a bowling ball in her hand before she's 2.

My back is still injured and I'm doing physical therapy trying to get my strength back up, so hopefully this fall I can come back stronger and get more consistant. I think that's going to be key for me... getting consistant in my release and my swing.. oh, and following through. Yeh, I have a lot of work to do this summer... lol...

    Bowling politics

Monday, April 21, 2008, 06:56 PM CST [General]

Honestly, I would SO much rather just NOT be involved in the politics that go on in bowling leagues. I want to go and enjoy my leagues and my kids leagues. I was until the problem with the youth leagues started and now it's just been a downward spiral. i'm fed up with writing letters and NO ONE listening to my concerns. I'm sick of everyone saying it's not their issue and they can't do anything and sending me to someone else. I want to continue to just HAVE FUN on the lanes, not have to worry about jerks running leagues and bratty youth coaches acting inappropriately around my kids.
